Up Next: Studying Manufacturing and Mittelstand in Southern Germany

Two months from today I will land in Stuttgart, Germany with two faculty colleagues and 24 business students for a packed nine days traveling around Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria (otherwise known as Bayern). We will spend time in Stuttgart, Schwäbisch Hall, and Munich, with day trips to Ludwigsburg, Sinsheim, Füssen, and Dachau. Highlights of the side trips include the Ludwigsburg Palace, a Bundesliga soccer match between 1899 Hoffenheim and FCSchalke 04, Neuschwanstein Castle, and the Dachau Memorial.

The rest of the time will be filled with business visits to places like Bosch Foundation, BMW, the UnternehmerTUM Entrepreneurship Center, and other Mittelstand companies. Our class is doing a really cool collaboration with students from Heillbronn University (Schwäbisch Hall). We started classes this week, and we will meet the students in the German class in two weeks, following Spring Break. Check back later for updates from abroad!
